Having successfully launched the world’s first Artificial Intelligence and 3D modelling agency, a Dorset native is making waves in the global fashion industry. Cameron Wilson, 35, from Weymouth, is the visionary founder and CEO of The Diigitals, a company he established after leaving London to focus on creating cutting-edge CGI models. Operating from his hometown, Cameron introduced the world to Shudu, the first AI supermodel, who has since graced the pages of top fashion magazines worldwide..

Cameron’s journey led him back to where it all began. "I was living in London, working in fashion, but I wasn’t happy," he explained. "So I moved back to Weymouth to live with my mum, with the goal of creating 3D CGI characters for movies or games."
Little did he know, his work would take an unexpected turn. "I created a model named Shudu, and she went viral almost overnight. She became the world’s first virtual supermodel, appearing in nearly every major fashion magazine," he recalled. This marked a turning point in his career, positioning him at the forefront of the digital fashion revolution.
Shudu is still famous now, with over 250,000 followers on Instagram
Cameron Wilson reflected on the creation of Shudu in 2018, initially designed with exaggerated, Barbie-like proportions. At the time, Shudu conformed to unrealistic beauty ideals, but Wilson's perspective has since evolved. "When I first introduced Shudu, she fit a more traditional, unattainable image," he explained. "But as AI models gained traction, I began to consider their impact on the industry and beauty standards."
Wilson acknowledges the growing interest in AI influencers and models but believes many overlook the profound ways AI will shape our lives. "I work with AI every day and love its potential, but I don't think enough attention is given to how it will influence society," he said. "As Shudu gained fame, I made sure her proportions became more reflective of a real person."
Wilson has since focused on incorporating natural imperfections into his creations. "AI doesn’t have to represent perfection," he emphasised. "It’s about capturing real life." The Diigitals' models now include a plus-sized figure and one with Down's syndrome, with the company collaborating closely with the children's charity Down’s Syndrome International to promote diverse and authentic representations in fashion.

Despite working with some of the biggest names in fashion, Cameron remains grounded and proud of his roots. From his modest office on St Alban Street, he continues to thrive in his hometown of Weymouth. "I love being based here," he shared enthusiastically. "I want to show the world that Weymouth is more than just fish and chips - this town is carving its place at the heart of the fashion world." Move over, Paris and New York - Wilson and The Diigitals are putting Weymouth firmly on the global fashion map.
